Fresh Ink Fest is The Mechanicals’ new works festival dedicated to developing bold original plays and connecting playwrights, directors, actors, and audiences through staged readings and conversation.
Submissions for Summer 2026 are now open through July 17, 2026. We welcome new works across genres including comedy, political satire, drama, coming-of-age, horror, sci-fi, and more. The submission fee is $50. Selected playwrights will receive staged readings as part of Fresh Ink Fest at the Flamboyan Theater in NYC, running September 23–27, 2026.
The festival will feature staged readings, audience discussions, and opportunities for collaboration among emerging and established theater artists. Directors, actors, and collaborators interested in participating are also encouraged to connect with us through our contact form.
